Three checks you can do yourself in five minutes, plus how an online degree is attested and recognised in the UAE.
Is the university entitled to run online degrees?
- Open the UGC Distance Education Bureau website.
- Find the list of institutions entitled to offer online programmes for the current session.
- Search "Mangalayatan University" and your programme.
Is it online mode, not distance?
- UGC keeps distance (ODL) courses inside the university's home state.
- Learners living outside India can legally join online-mode programmes only.
- Your marksheet will say "Mode of Delivery: Online".
Is your enrolment in your own name?
- Create your ABC ID through DigiLocker.
- Generate your DEB-ID on the UGC portal.
- Receive your university application number by email.

Using your degree in the UAE and the GCC
Each authority and employer decides how it recognises an online degree. This is the usual attestation route.
