How to attest an Indian degree for use in the UAE

The usual attestation route for an Indian university degree used in the UAE: state verification, MEA, UAE Embassy New Delhi, UAE MoFA and, if required, MoHESR.

Attestation proves to UAE authorities and employers that your Indian degree is genuine. The route below is the usual one; requirements and fees are set by each authority and can change, so confirm with the authority or an approved attestation service before you start.

Step 1: University verification

Your degree and marksheets are issued by the university. Keep the originals safe and scan them in colour.

Step 2: State verification

For Mangalayatan University, this is done by the Uttar Pradesh education authorities.

Step 3: MEA attestation

The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, attests the document after state verification.

Step 4: UAE Embassy, New Delhi

The UAE Embassy in India attests the MEA-attested document.

Step 5: UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Final attestation in the UAE, after which the degree is commonly accepted by private employers.

Step 6: MoHESR recognition, if your employer or authority requires it

Some roles need recognition by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It starts with verification through an approved provider such as Dataflow and is assessed case by case.

AtomiQ guides every graduate through this route. Government fees are paid separately. Ask us about your case.
